Balapan Onta
kalau kita menonton sebuah acara olah raga di televisi,biasanya kita akan menjumpagi beberapa binatang sebagai obyek dari olah raga tersebut seperti berkuda contohnya.hal ini sudah jamak kita lihat tentunya dari olah raga tersebut.tapi kalau balap onta,mungkin sesuatu hal baru yang belum pernah kita lihat sebelumnya.
selama tinggal di negara Uni Emirat Arab,selain mendengarkan melodi arabia daku juga sering menonton acara olah raga,salah satunya adalah pertandingan onta yang sering di siarkan baik secara langsung ataupun siaran tunda.pertama sich daku agak aneh dengan olah raga ini,masa sich ada perlombaan onta gitu,kenapa gak yang lain,ternyata unik juga dengan perlombaan yang satu ini.biasanya sebelum daku berangkat kerja sambil breakfast daku suka nonton perlombaan ini secara live di tv.
Daku pun sempat bertanya ke penduduk asli emirat,kok ada perlombaan onta,kenapa enggak lomba yang lain aja.mereka mengatakan kalau perlombaan ini memang merupakan perlombaan populer di negaranya.dan celakanya lagi setelah daku sampai tempat kerja,ternyata perlombaan onta ini setel juga pada sebuah layar tv berukuran besar yang ada di tempat daku kerja.terpaksa dech setiap pagi tontonannya onta lagi, onta lagi.sering juga sich kalau gak ada pengawas daku suka ganti dengan channel yang lebih menarik seperti melodi arabia atau pun film dari Hollywood dan Bollywood.
Balapan onta adalah olahraga tradisional yang sangat populer di Uni Emirat arab dan timur tengah,olahraga ini biasanya di ikuti dari negara-negara yang tergabung dalam kelompok GCC(gulf corporation coucil).di Emirat sendiri awalnya hanya di pertunjukan dalam suasana tidak resmi dalam memeriahkan sebuah pesta pernikahan.saat sekarang olahraga ini berkembang pesat di timur tengah.
Binatang onta yang di juluki sebagai"Kapal padang pasir"memiliki tempat yang tak terbantahkan dalam dalam sejarah bangsa arab.dahulu kala binatang ini di pakai sebagai alat transportasi untuk mengangkut barang dari saudar ataupun kafilah arab yang akan berniaga ke suatu tempat di Jazirah arab.booming minyak di timur tengah mengakibatkan banyak aspek kehidupan tradisional menghilang.onta di pertahankan sebagai makna simbolis,saat teknologi menggantikan tenaga hewan.orang-orang arab pun berusaha mempertahankan tradisi lama,termasuk balap onta.
Sejumlah perlombaan pun di adakan sepanjang musim dingin antara bulan oktober sampai april dan mencapai puncaknya dalam festival tahunan lomba balap onta di Al-Wathba yang menarik para wisatawan dari seluruh dunia untuk menyaksikan acara itu.
Apakah memakai joki juga pada balap onta?jawabanya ya,anak-anak dan remaja di bawah 18 tahun inilah sebagai jokinya,tapi penggunaan joki anak ini di kecam dari berbagai pihak terutama komnas perlindungan anak,kalau di indonesia kayak kak Seto kali.keberadaan anak-anak dan remaja di bawah usia 18 tidak di izinkan.larangan ini berlaku sejak tahun 2005 atas permintaan presiden Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.bagi yang melanggar akan di kenai denda dan sanksi yang tegas dari pihak berwenang.

Jadi gak ada jokinya dong?,jawabannya ada dong.sebagai gantinya,robot joki telah di siapkan sebagai ganti joki pada perlombaan balap onta di negara UEA ini.robot tersebut di kendalikan dengan remote kontrol dan di dandani mirip joki lengkap dengan cambuknya.pantes kalau daku perhatikan kok joki-joki tersebut badannya kecil-kecil gak seperti orang arab yang kebanyakan berbadan besar-besar,ternyata palsu.
Pada 1990, 12 trek balap baru dibangun untuk memenuhi meningkatnya permintaan untuk balap onta..Uni Emirat Arab saat ini memiliki 15 trek balap di seantero negeri dengan stadion luas dan terawat baik untuk para penonton. Jarak lomba bervariasi antara 4 sampai 10 kilometer dan dapat mempertandingkan sebanyak 15 sampai 70 ekor unta sekaligus.
Balap unta biasanya diadakan awal Jumat atau pada hari libur nasional. Taruhan merupakan hal ilegal di UAE, tapi pemenang menerima bermacam-macam hadiah, seperti mobil mewah. Balap unta yang paling terkenal, yang bernilai jutaan dolar dan merupakan dambaan para pembalap, adalah memenangkan Piala Raja di Dubai.
setiap melihat tayangan di tv,jangan salah yah,ternyata lapangan untuk arena balap ini tak kalah megahya dengan arena perlombaan joki kuda. para sheikh di seluruh uni emirat arab menginvestasikan uang dalam jumlah besar guna pengembangan balap onta di seluruh emirates.

Her elder sister, Jennifer Tisdale, is an actress and model, and her maternal grandfather, Arnold Morris, developed Ginsu Knives; through her grandfather, she is also related to businessman Ron Popeil. Tisdale is Jewish on her mother's side and considers herself Jewish. “ When I was little, I saw the play Les Misérables on Broadway, I thought it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. So I went to my manager and told him I wanted to be in it. He asked me if I could sing, and I said no.
